On May 16, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. A Belarusian health resort (an analogue of Russia's "Martial Waters") will be built in Braslav district near a unique source of bromine water. This was announced today during an online conference on the BELTA website by Nikolai Mazur, Director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population. The health resort is to be built in the settlement of Vidzy, Braslav district. EUR 500,000 has already been invested in the preparation of documentation. Scientists from the National Academy of Sciences have conducted exploration and identified bromine brines and sulphite muds. The future resort will be an analogue of Russia's "Martial Waters". "That is, we have a unique opportunity," noted the director of the center. According to him, the capacity of Belarusian health resorts is being expanded in all districts. In addition, family holiday homes are being built more actively near the health resorts. At the same time, today each region of Belarus needs a good health resort with a capacity of 500 beds. The settlement of Vidzy has long been known for its hydrogen sulfide springs. A couple of centuries ago, a water therapy clinic already operated in the vicinity of this settlement, which was established by representatives of the noble family of Mineyko. Under the supervision of specialists, about 50 patients could improve their health there simultaneously. However, after a fire in the 1850s, only the foundation remained of the water therapy clinic. -0-
