27 August, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. The Belarusian Children's Fund (BCF) will hold a charity event "First time - first grade!" for children from foster families on August 28 in Minsk, ahead of the new academic year, the BCF informed BELTA.

The event has become a tradition. Its goal is to provide support to foster parents and give a holiday to boys and girls from family-type children's homes. First-graders from different parts of the country will enjoy an interesting and eventful programme: a bus tour of Minsk, rides on attractions in Gorky Central Children's Park, and bowling. The children will receive gifts: school uniforms from the famous Belarusian designer Svetlana Todorskaya, backpacks with school supplies, books, and toys.

The main surprise is that the children will spend the whole day accompanied by famous media personalities of Belarus, who will come to the meeting with their own children. The organisers believe it will be a wonderful day of sincere communication, good emotions, new experiences, and wish fulfillment.

Families created and supported by the Belarusian Children's Fund within the framework of the "Warm Home" programme (41 family-type children's homes have been established, where parents raise from five to 10 foster children) are participating in the event. The BCF purchases and equips cottages for their accommodation, buys furniture, household appliances, etc., provides financial assistance, as well as support in treatment, health improvement, and education of children. Thanks to the "Warm Home" programme, 609 orphans have found a home, a family, and confidence in the future.-0-
