Following trading at the unified session of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange on 22 December, the national currency strengthened against the US dollar and the euro, while slightly weakening against the Russian rouble, BelTA reports. The exchange rate of the Belarusian rouble was set at Br8390 per $1 today, compared to Br8410 yesterday. The trading volume for the dollar decreased by almost half to $52.214 million (on 21 December - $100.349 million). $52.642 million was offered for sale today, with preliminary purchase orders for dollars amounting to $49.051 million. Against the euro, the national currency regained its previous position today: after weakening by Br60 yesterday, it strengthened by the same amount in today's trading. Thus, the exchange rate of the Belarusian rouble to the euro was set at Br10970 per 1 euro. The volume of euro offered for sale today exceeded the volume of demand: 23.875 million euros versus 21.760 million. The trading volume ultimately amounted to 22.242 million euros, increasing by almost 1.5 times compared to yesterday's figure (on 21 December - 15.291 million). Against the Russian rouble, the national currency rate decreased by Br1 to Br266. The volume of transactions concluded for this currency today amounted to 1 billion 563.266 million Russian roubles (on 21 December - 1 billion 171.566 million). The demand for Russian roubles amounted to 1 billion 658.527 million Russian roubles, while slightly less was offered for sale according to preliminary orders - 1 billion 560.901 million.-0-
