Since 2018, Belarusians will be able to purchase shares of major international companies on the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange, stated Andrey Aukhimenya, Chairman of the Board of BCSE, during an online conference on the Beltehleradiocompany website, according to BELTA.

"We are currently working on admitting non-resident shares to our exchange. So that our citizens can buy Apple shares," noted the head of BCSE. The essence of this project is to provide the opportunity to purchase shares of major international companies, so-called blue chips, on the Belarusian exchange.

"We are working on the principle of Apple company. Press a button – everything should work. I think by the end of this year, the deadline is the beginning of 2018, we will bring this situation to a logical conclusion, and people will be able to invest in shares of foreign issuers," explained Andrey Aukhimenya.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Board of BCSE noted that active work must also be done in Belarus to make investments in Belarusian securities as attractive as those in foreign ones. "Among other things, I am the Chairman of the Association of Securities Market Participants. And within the association, we are trying to invigorate our stock market so that shares and securities of our companies are interesting to Belarusians, so that our citizens invest in the domestic economy, not abroad," he emphasized.
