On December 17, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. OJSC "BelVitunipharm" and unitary enterprise "Vitebsk Biopharma Factory" may become a single enterprise by mid-2012. This was announced today at a joint meeting of the presidium of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets. According to the governor, such a merger will increase the production of import-substituting medical preparations in Belarus. "BelVitunipharm" was established in 2008 and became a joint-stock company in 2011 with the participation of the Jordanian pharmaceutical enterprise JPM. The main activities of the joint-stock company include the production of pharmaceutical preparations and materials, as well as veterinary medicines, medical instruments, apparatus, and equipment. Currently, "BelVitunipharm" operates a line for filling and packaging medicinal preparations, which was commissioned at the end of 2010. The first product of "BelVitunipharm" was the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic "Oxymal". The enterprise has already registered six types of medicinal preparations, and it is planned to submit another six for registration by the end of the year, with this list expected to expand to 28 preparations in early 2012. Technological dossiers for the preparations are provided by the second founder, the Jordanian pharmaceutical company JPM. By 2013, the enterprise intends to launch a full cycle of medicinal product manufacturing. Vitebsk Biopharma Factory was founded in 1930. In 2006-2010, an innovative project "Expansion of UP 'Vitebsk Biopharma Factory'" was implemented at the enterprise. Upon its completion, the enterprise became capable of producing finished dosage forms, bacterial vaccines and infusion solutions, and viral vaccines. However, due to the lack of qualified specialists in biotechnology, the enterprise cannot achieve stable operation.-0-
