On October 17, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. OJSC "BelVitunipharma" (Vitebsk) plans to launch a full cycle of drug production by 2013, the acting director of the enterprise, Vadim Lapeshkin, told a BELTA correspondent. The total estimated investment volume for the project is about 13 million euros, with financing planned to be provided through credit resources and the funds of the joint-stock company's founders. The creation of drug production with a full technological cycle (from substance to finished dosage form) involves the construction of so-called clean rooms for the pharmaceutical industry, the purchase and installation of new equipment, technological systems, as well as the organization and accreditation of laboratories where new drugs are planned to be developed. The design capacity of the production will be up to 1 billion tablets and 200 million capsules per year. The technological process is planned to be organized in four streams. The project will be implemented in full compliance with GMP requirements, which will allow for the creation of competitive drugs in domestic and foreign markets, emphasized Vadim Lapeshkin. The creation of a full production cycle is envisaged as the second stage of the large-scale project to establish a pharmaceutical enterprise in Vitebsk. Currently, BelVitunipharma operates a line for packaging and packing drugs, which was commissioned at the end of 2010. The maximum capacity of the line is up to 400 blisters (primary packaging for 5 to 10 tablets) per minute, and the technology used minimizes packaging material waste. The first drug of BelVitunipharma was the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic "Oxymal". The enterprise has already registered six types of drugs, and plans to submit another six for registration by the end of the year, and in early 2012, this list is expected to expand to 28 drugs. Technological dossiers for the drugs are provided by the Jordanian pharmaceutical enterprise JPM, which is one of the founders of BelVitunipharma. In addition, in the future, the enterprise plans to establish a research center in cooperation with Vitebsk State Medical University.
