Beshenkovichi and Chashniki districts are leading in the pace of grain harvesting in the Vitebsk region, the committee for agriculture and food of the regional executive committee informed a BELTA correspondent.

The Vitebsk region has begun mass grain harvesting. In the region, 24.5 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been threshed, which is more than 7% of the total area. About 80 thousand tons of grain have been harvested with an average yield of 32.3 centners per hectare.

Beshenkovichi and Chashniki districts are leading in the pace of harvesting, having harvested more than 17% and 16% of the grain acreage, respectively. Farmers in the Glubokoe district have threshed more than 10%. In terms of yield, the best results are demonstrated by the farmers of Orsha (41.8 centners/ha), Verkhnedvinsk (38 centners/ha), and Vitebsk (36.4 centners/ha) districts.
