The duty-free import of international parcels in Belarus is limited to 22 euros and 10 kg. This is stipulated by Decree No. 40, which amends Decree No. 360 of 21 July 2014 "On the movement of goods for personal use across the customs border of the Customs Union in the Republic of Belarus", which comes into force today, BELTA reports.

The document provides for a change in the duty-free import norm for goods in international postal items. If previously the norm was 200 euros per month, but not more than 31 kg, it has now been reduced to 22 euros, but not more than 10 kg. Such changes are due to the fact that recently there has been a significant increase in the import of commercial batches of goods into the country via international postal items.
Over 250,000 Belarusian citizens last year received from 10 to 100 or more parcels via international postal items from online stores. As customs authorities' analysis showed, these goods were imported for commercial use. Compared to 2013, the number of commercial batches of goods imported from online stores has increased sixfold.
At the same time, last year more than 90% of Belarusian citizens did not receive international parcels at all.
In some EU countries, the duty-free import norm for goods in international postal items is also 22 euros.
