Despite a decrease in the number of road traffic accidents (hereinafter referred to as RTAs) involving persons without a driving license (from 26 to 24), as well as the severity of fatalities in them (from 7 to 3), the number of injured participants in these RTAs has increased (from 24 to 28).

Despite a decrease in the number of road traffic accidents (hereinafter referred to as RTAs) involving persons without a driving license (from 26 to 24), as well as the severity of fatalities in them (from 7 to 3), the number of injured participants in these RTAs has increased (from 24 to 28). Moreover, 46.0% of this type of RTA were committed by drivers under the influence of alcohol.

For example, on 26.05.2017 at 20:40, on the 174th km of the Minsk-Vitebsk highway, a resident of the village of Bobrovo, born in 1969, while intoxicated and without a driving license, was driving a Hyundai Pony car. While travelling on the 174th km of the M-3 highway (Minsk – Vitebsk), from Vitebsk towards Minsk, he lost control and drove into the ditch to the right of the direction of travel, where the vehicle overturned.

As a result of the RTA, the vehicle sustained mechanical damage, and the driver, as well as a woman and a child travelling as passengers in the vehicle, were hospitalised with bodily injuries at the Healthcare Institution "Lepel Central Regional Hospital".

In order to prevent RTAs involving persons without a driving license and to stop them from violating the Traffic Regulations, from October 23 to 27, 2017, the State Automobile Inspectorate is conducting a preventive campaign "No License – You're Wrong!", which is aimed at preventing road traffic accidents involving persons without a driving license.
