From January 24 to 30, the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Vitebsk region will hold "Safety Week". This event is aimed at preventing child road traffic injuries.
In 2021, 40 accidents involving children were registered in the Vitebsk region, in which 40 minors were injured and 4 died. Since the beginning of 2022, 1 road traffic accident has been registered in which a child was injured. The accident occurred on January 12 in Dokshytsy. A 7-year-old schoolboy was hit by a car while crossing the roadway at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The minor was hospitalised with injuries sustained.
Employees of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Vitebsk region will visit kindergartens, schools, colleges, and universities to remind students, their parents, and educators of the importance of observing the Traffic Regulations near the roadway.
Compliance with the Traffic Regulations by all road users guarantees a reduction in road accidents.
