The traditional Road Safety Patrol (RSP) competition was held with an improved programme at Secondary School No. 3. Some teams presented an agitational and artistic performance, while others were tested on traffic rules, first aid, and bicycle handling skills. As a result, the event duration was reduced by almost half.
The winning team from the previous competition was the first to take the stage. The main character, a fairy-tale figure, Harry Potter, finds himself with the young traffic inspectors. They diligently explain to him the rules for preserving his own life and the lives of those around him. The performance is accompanied by modern songs and rhythmic dances. The song "Boogie-woogie" from the youth film "Stilyagi" was given a new, relevant sound. They even dared to perform the song "Lipstick" by the group Jedward.
Inspectors from Secondary School No. 1 distinguished themselves with a video they filmed, in which they teach toddlers the basics of traffic rules. Vocalists from Borovskaya School pleased the audience. Among the performers was Daria Zaretskaya, a participant in the republican competition "Golden Lyre," who had been studying vocals since the age of four.
For the first time in the history of the competition, traffic rule knowledge was tested by computer. The schoolchildren were brought closer to the conditions of the examination at the Road and Vehicle Registration Department (MREO): 10 questions, 15 minutes for all. Secondary School No. 3 excelled here – all participants answered flawlessly. The test was conducted using a random ticket.
The most challenging and longest test for everyone was in the gymnasium: each participant had to complete 10 elements. The participants were frustrated by the closely spaced cones, between which it seemed almost impossible to ride. No one completed the course cleanly.
The city teams took the prize places: first – Secondary School No. 3, second – Secondary School No. 1, third – the gymnasium. However, the poster created by Stayskaya School was unrivalled.
The RSP unites schoolchildren, and the gymnasium team is a vivid example of this. Alexandra Leiko twisted her leg on the stairs during the last rehearsal; it was later discovered to be a fracture. The girl did not abandon her team; she took the first aid and traffic rules tests herself, moving around on her classmates' backs.
