On February 2, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. All apartments and houses of families raising young children will be inspected in the Vitebsk region during February. This decision was made today at a meeting of the commission for emergency situations under the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, where the issue of measures taken to prevent fires, deaths from them, and ensure the accident-free operation of economic facilities and energy in low temperatures was considered, the commission informed BELTA correspondent. By February 8, commissions will be organized in all districts of the region, including representatives of the commissions for juvenile affairs under the city/district executive committees, city/district departments for emergency situations, internal affairs, education, territorial centers for social welfare of the population, town and village councils, energy supervision, gas services, sanitary services, and medical personnel. These commissions are tasked with inspecting households for their safety for children's residence. In case of detection of facts of leaving children unattended by adults, response measures will be immediately applied. District commissions are instructed to study the need to create groups for round-the-clock child care, as well as weekend groups in settlements. By mid-February, brigades will be established in each district on the basis of housing and communal services enterprises and agricultural enterprises to carry out repairs, installation, and maintenance of stoves in the housing stock, and to provide services to the population at an affordable price. Measures are also being taken in the region to prevent emergency shutdowns of heat supply, conduct additional checks of the readiness of autonomous electricity and heat supply sources; ensure the reliable functioning of external fire water supply sources at facilities in low-temperature conditions. The traffic police department of the Internal Affairs Directorate is instructed to organize assistance to drivers in case of vehicle malfunctions on roads. The Vitebsk Regional Union of Consumer Societies will ensure the uninterrupted supply of food and essential goods to residents of remote settlements.
