As part of the second stage of the republican campaign "Safe New Year!", employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations conducted preventive measures with students of all educational institutions in the town and district to once again remind the children about safety rules during the New Year holidays.
Rescuers reminded the children about the dangers of pyrotechnic devices, discussed the specifics of setting up a Christmas tree and using electric garlands during the New Year and Christmas holidays. The issue of ice safety was also not overlooked. The children were strictly warned against going out on thin ice.
In addition, rescuers held an engaging quiz "New Year's Logic" with high school students, which helped them recall actions in various emergency situations, how to use a fire extinguisher, the dangers of using pyrotechnic devices, the benefits of fire detection and alarm systems (API), and the installation of the mobile application "Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus: Help is Nearby".
With younger students, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees practiced safe ways to decorate a Christmas tree, solved winter riddles, and deciphered magic snowflakes by answering questions on life safety. Then, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees invited the children to immerse themselves in a fairy-tale atmosphere and for a while turn into characters from the cartoon "The Magic Book of the Ministry of Emergency Situations". During the impromptu theatre, participants were given a sheet with a phrase that a character had to say every time they heard their "name". Every hero learned that safety rules must be known, as the Wolf, through his own example, showed that a small firework can bring great trouble.
The children were also told about the contests and quizzes conducted by the editorial office of the "Young Rescuer" magazine in the run-up to the New Year holidays. Schoolchildren were shown the "Young Rescuer" magazine and invited to feel like little magicians by writing a kind and interesting letter with wishes and sending it to the editorial office.
In conclusion, the children promised to try to observe all the rules and requirements they heard about at the event, and the representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations wished the children a good and cheerful mood, and most importantly, a safe New Year.
