February 5, Minsk /BELTA/. Belarusian State University has increased its intake plan for applicants in 2013, BELTA was informed by the university's press service.
Thus, for full-time state-funded education, it is planned to admit 2048 people, of which 1273 are for natural science specialties and 775 people are for socio-economic and humanitarian specialties. For comparison, in 2012, 2024 applicants were admitted to the full-time state-funded department at BSU.
For paid education, the following admission targets have been set: for full-time study - 2514 (in 2012 - 2107), for part-time study - 1931 (1689).
"The increase in admission figures is due to the fact that BSU is expected to open a number of new natural science specialties, the list of which is currently being considered by the Ministry of Education," the press service of Belarusian State University noted.
At the same time, the university noted that the admission plan for part-time state-funded education in 2013 has been slightly reduced. It is planned to admit 400 people, while in 2012, 405 were admitted. The recruitment plan for the military faculty will also be reduced, where training will be carried out in four specialties and fields, instead of seven as in 2012.
One of the features of this year's admission campaign will be an increased intake for the shortened form of study for graduates of secondary vocational education institutions. Admission of such applicants is planned to be carried out in eight specialties, compared to three last year.
