A new academic year is about to begin. On this occasion, the State Automobile Inspectorate is conducting a special comprehensive event "Attention – Children!", during which, from August 25 to September 5 of the current year, drivers of all vehicles must drive with their low beam headlights on during the daytime.
Eight school buses, which daily transport pupils from the villages of the Lepel district to general education institutions in the morning and take them home in the evening, must be safe for children. Moreover, these same buses simultaneously transport children to kindergartens.
On the eve of the new academic year, school buses were gathered on Freedom Square in the town for technical inspection. Major of police Valery Leshchenok, who is temporarily acting as the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Lepel District Department of Internal Affairs, together with specialists from the Department of Education, Sports and Tourism of the District Executive Committee, the district emergency department, diagnostic station No. 48, and the transport inspectorate, conducted a comprehensive inspection of them.
Particular attention was paid to the operability of the alarm system, external lighting devices, and other safety parameters. These buses had previously successfully passed the mandatory technical inspection and were carefully checked using special technical and computer equipment. All school buses presented for technical inspection were approved for operation.
