The New Year's charity campaign "Our Children" will be held in Belarus from December 10, 2018, to January 11, 2019. This is stipulated by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of October 22, 2018, No. 754, as reported by BELTA with reference to the government's website.
During the campaign, heads of republican government bodies, local executive and administrative bodies will visit children's boarding institutions and family-type homes, hospitals, foster and adoptive families. They will congratulate children on New Year and Christmas, present them with gifts, and help solve problems. Public associations and other organisations will also join the charity campaign.
In December, the central event of the campaign will take place – the New Year's celebration at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk. It will be attended by over 2,000 children from all regions of the country: students who are winners of Olympiads, creative competitions and sports events, leaders of children's public associations and organisations, orphans and children left without parental care, children with disabilities, children from large and low-income families, refugee families, and others.
The resolution also approved the organising committee for holding the "Our Children" campaign events in Minsk. It is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko.
