Traditionally, heads of government bodies and enterprises, and leaders of public associations will visit socially significant facilities and congratulate children, presenting them with computer equipment, toys, sports equipment, and sweets. Special attention will be paid to children in difficult life situations, pupils of boarding schools, children from large, foster, and adoptive families, and children with disabilities.
In 2017, republican government bodies, organizations subordinate to the Government of Belarus, concerns, banks, and public associations provided financial assistance and purchased equipment and gifts worth over Br1 million 205 thousand. It is planned that this year, over 90 institutions, enterprises, and organizations will participate in the republican event. Their representatives will be welcomed in more than 120 children's homes, socio-pedagogical centers, and social shelters. It is expected that more than 15,000 children will take part in the event.
The main event of the campaign will be a charity New Year's celebration for children with the participation of the Head of State, which will take place at the Palace of the Republic on the eve of the New Year. More than 2,000 children aged 8-14 from different regions of the country have already been invited to the Christmas tree. Other significant events are planned: celebrations for the best pupils and students at the Palace of Independence, Christmas trees with the participation of the chairmen of regional and Minsk City Executive Committees, and parties for children in boarding schools, hospitals, and other institutions. In each region of the country, New Year's events will be held for pupils from large families, surrogate families, and other categories of children in need of special care. During the charity event, pupils from boarding schools, adoptive and foster families, and family-type children's homes will visit the residence of Ded Moroz (Father Frost) in the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park. Christmas balls and celebrations on city ice arenas will be held in the regions, and children will meet famous people of the country, members of the government, deputies, and athletes.
