The exhibition, dedicated to the multifaceted world of the family, will open on March 7 at the Art Space (7 Tolstogo Street). "Each of us perceives the word 'family' in our own way, but everyone knows that family means people with whom we are for life, together we create our own history with its values and traditions. I think visitors will not so much see this as feel it. Most of the works were chosen by the project participants from their archives, as many in our Vitebsk photography community are involved in family photography. However, these are not standard souvenir photos, but works with artistic content and semantic meaning," explained the project curator, well-known Vitebsk photographer Alexey Karasev.
In addition to himself, 15 other people are participating in the project. The exhibition will run for at least a month. And throughout this time, the accompanying charity event "Let's Help the Children from the Baby House" will be held. "There will be a donation box in the exhibition hall, and each visitor will also be able to purchase a personalised certificate for a photoshoot with any of the exhibition participants at a 20% discount. The amounts collected from sales will be transferred by the photographers to the account of the Vitebsk Children's Home," said Alexey Karasev.
