Specifically, 571.1 thousand people improved their health and rested using funds from the republican budget and the state non-budgetary social protection fund of the population (BYR 128.6 million was allocated for these purposes). Vouchers purchased with funds from legal entities and individuals were provided for 447.8 thousand people (BYR 250.2 million). Practically every second voucher holder is under 18 years of age (514.5 thousand children visited health resorts and camps, including 65.3 thousand young residents of the Chernobyl regions and 2.2 thousand children with disabilities). As for the summer health campaign of 2016, 360.3 thousand schoolchildren received health improvement in camps of all types (103.1% of the plan).
Sanatorium-resort and health improvement organisations of the republic increased their revenue from the sale of services to legal entities and individuals by 20.6% in the nine months of the current year. The sale of additional paid services not included in the voucher cost also increased. The average occupancy rate was 81.5%.
An important area of work is the export of services. In the first three quarters of the current year, 167.2 thousand citizens from near and far abroad visited health resorts in Belarus (compared to 143.3 thousand in the same period last year). The export of services increased by 35.8% and reached BYR 123.6 million.
Currently, 114 sanatorium-resort organisations with 28.9 thousand beds and 212 health improvement organisations with 37.3 thousand beds are operating in Belarus, having confirmed their status based on the results of state certification.
