Over $1 billion in investments attracted to the Vitebsk region economy in 2019
Over $1 billion in investments has been attracted to the Vitebsk region economy in 2019. This was announced today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, at the award ceremony for the laureates of the "Person of the Year of Vitebsk Region" title, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"More than $1 billion in investments has been attracted to the region's economy. The implementation of key projects such as the modernisation of the Orsha Linen Mill, Naftan and Polotsk-Steklovolokno enterprises, the Vitebsk Broiler Factory, the construction of a plant for the production of metal sheet and tinplate in the Miory district, and facilities of the second and third phases of the Bremіno-Orsha industrial and logistics centre continues," the governor emphasised.
The head of the region noted positive trends occurring in the economy of the Orsha district. For example, last year the first plant in Belarus for the production of seamless steel cylinders was commissioned here, and a new modern robotic dairy complex was built by the Vitebskenergo enterprise. Currently, the construction of Kupalinka, the largest dairy complex in the republic for 2.2 thousand head, is nearing completion at the Yubileiny agro-combine. The Ustyе agricultural enterprise intends to commission two innovative facilities in the first half of the current year: a grain drying complex for preparing crop seeds with a capacity of 10 thousand tonnes and a dairy complex with a "robotic carousel" milking system.
