15 December, Minsk /Ekaterina Nechayeva - BELTA/. The Central Election Commission of Belarus has accredited 1015 international observers to work during the presidential elections. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Central Commission for Elections and National Referendums. According to the CEC, 406 representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR, 261 from the CIS, and 6 from the CIS Permanent Committee intend to monitor the presidential elections. Parliamentarians from other countries have also been accredited to participate in observation (82 representatives from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, 45 from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, 10 from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, and 48 observers from foreign parliaments). 24 representatives from foreign Central Election Commissions and 50 observers from diplomatic and consular missions of foreign states intend to monitor the presidential elections in Belarus. In addition, 83 independent observers intend to monitor the voting process. As a rule, these are well-known foreign politicians who work outside of missions and provide a personal, independent assessment of the elections.
