On March 27, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Over 100 boxers will gather in Vitebsk from March 27 to 29 for the XIV Open Republican Boxing Tournament dedicated to the memory of internationalist soldiers who died in Afghanistan. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. Participants of the tournament will include athletes from Ukraine, various regions of Russia and Belarus, and a team of boxers from Tallinn (Estonia) is also expected. Vitebsk region will be represented by athletes from the regional center, Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Glubokoye, Orsha. The first day of the tournament will be dedicated to the memory of Afghan veterans: boxers will lay a wreath at the "Pain" monument, honor the memory of the fallen, and visit the adjacent Museum of Internationalist Soldiers. The knockout competition itself will begin on March 28 in three age categories: juniors born in 1996-1997, youth born in 1995, and adults born in 1994 and older. Winners in each category will be awarded valuable prizes, medals, and diplomas on March 29.
