Over 100 violations of temperature regulations have been identified at enterprises and organisations in the Vitebsk region over two weeks, the Committee for Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed BELTA correspondent.
Monitoring of compliance with comfortable working conditions during low temperatures has been conducted by order of the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, since the end of January. During the period, mobile groups comprising employees of the committee system, the Vitebsk Regional Centre for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health, and city and district executive committees have inspected 454 organisations and surveyed almost 1.4 thousand buildings, workshops, structures, and facilities housing 5.8 thousand workplaces.
During the inspections, 106 cases of temperature regulation violations were identified, and response measures were taken for each: 93 orders were issued, 68 administrative offence reports were drawn up, and 59 fines totalling over Br14 million were imposed on the offenders.
In addition, during the inspections, about 1.6 thousand other violations were identified, as well as 10 employees found at their workplace in a state of alcoholic intoxication.
Monitoring will continue until February 25. During the work of mobile groups, state labour inspectors also assist in identifying temperature regulation violations, focusing primarily on organisations in the agro-industrial complex and construction industry. During the reporting period, they inspected over 100 organisations in these sectors. Violations of working conditions and the provision of personal protective equipment (workwear and footwear for protection against low temperatures) were identified at 30% of enterprises, added Sergey Anufriev, First Deputy Head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the State Labour Inspectorate Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. -0-
