The current labour market situation necessitates prompt measures by authorities to ensure population employment. "Monitoring conducted shows that in addition to registered unemployed individuals, there are also those in the region who would like to find temporary employment. To provide them, as well as registered unemployed individuals, with earnings, employment departments have established centres for organising and daily dispatching individuals to socially useful work. A list of organisations in forestry, road construction, agricultural production, and housing and communal services has been compiled to create work crews from unemployed individuals, those seeking employment, and those who apply for assistance in finding work. As of April 1, 145 employers have been registered on this list, ready to provide temporary employment in the form of paid public works. Some crews are already working at facilities," explained Irina Matveeva.
Currently, in all cities and districts of the region, the volumes of public paid works funded by the budget of the employment fund are being clarified, and opportunities to increase them are being considered. In total, it is planned to involve 5.1 thousand people in this form of employment in 2017. Work will be organised individually and in teams in forestry enterprises (780 people), agriculture (4 thousand), public utilities (565), road management (100), rural councils (1040), social services institutions (190), healthcare (75), education (200), culture (40), and other enterprises (235).
As another measure of prompt employment assistance, job fairs continue to be held. In April, it is planned to organise 17 such events.
