More than 20 car collisions occurred due to adverse weather conditions in Vitebsk, as reported to BELTA correspondent by Olesya Seregina, Head of the Agitation and Propaganda Department of the Traffic Police Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The current day began in Vitebsk with bright sunny weather, however, by ten o'clock in the morning, the city was enveloped in a snowstorm with strong gusts of wind. Both ordinary motorists and public transport, moving with difficulty but confidently along their routes, became hostages of the inclement weather. At the same time, the adverse weather conditions provoked 23 car collisions in just three hours. Fortunately, as of 13:00, no one was injured in the traffic accidents recorded by the traffic police officers. Given the current situation, the State Automobile Inspectorate recommends that drivers maintain a safe distance and speed, and also not to rush to change winter tires in the near future. According to weather forecasters, unstable weather is predicted in the region in early April. -0-
