Over 250 children have been invited to the regional trade union Christmas tree event in Vitebsk, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Vitebsk Regional Trade Union Association.
The celebration will take place at the Palace of Children and Youth (8 Shcherbakova-Naberezhnaya St.) on Monday, December 26. Invited to the event are orphans and children left without parental care, children with disabilities, and children from large and low-income families, as well as pupils of orphanages. Guests can expect New Year's surprises, entertainment, games, and gifts. Leading groups from the Palace of Children and Youth (the "Ramónki" dance ensemble and the "Mara" theatre) have prepared a performance titled "Snegurochka's Ring". All participants will receive sweet New Year's gifts.
The regional trade union celebration is one of the main events of the "Trade Unions for Children" New Year's charity campaign in the region. Leaders of trade union organisations are visiting children's boarding institutions, foster and adoptive families, family-type orphanages, and families raising children with disabilities during these days, presenting gifts and providing financial assistance. For example, the regional organisation of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers has already allocated about Br1,000 for these purposes.
The organisers of the New Year's celebration are the regional trade union association, industry trade unions, and primary organisations of the city's enterprises and organisations.
