More than 280 school-based camps will operate during the autumn holidays for students of the Vitebsk region, as reported to BELTA correspondent by Elena Andreichikova, Head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Republican Centre for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population. 11.6 thousand schoolchildren will be able to relax in school-based camps during the holidays. These are mainly children from large, single-parent, and low-income families. The camp activities will be remembered by schoolchildren for their vibrant cultural and entertainment events, intellectual competitions, and sports contests, as well as engaging hobby clubs. During these days, teenagers from the regional centre will also visit city theatres, and amateur groups will perform for rural youth. Excursions will be an important component of the school-based camp programmes. Children will be able to take trips to Minsk, Nesvizh, Polotsk, and see the sights of other Belarusian cities. Thus, during the autumn holidays, schoolchildren will be able to fully relax and gain strength for the new academic period. -0-
