More than 300 autumn fairs will be held in the Vitebsk region, the trade and services department of the regional executive committee informed a BELTA correspondent. On weekends, in Vitebsk, Orsha, Polotsk, Novopolotsk and Novolukoml, sales of vegetables, fruits, root crops, catering products and consumer goods by enterprises and organizations of the region will be held to supply the population with agricultural products. In Vitebsk, the fair venues have been determined on the grounds near the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall, on Proletarskaya Square and at the "Tsentralny" market on Moskovsky Avenue. The final date for the organization of fairs has not been set - they will be held until frost sets in. The first fairs were held in the Vitebsk region last weekend. Their turnover amounted to Br805.4 million, including Br188 million for Vitebsk. The region's population purchased 130 tons of potatoes, 5.5 tons of cabbage, 3.6 tons of carrots, 2.7 tons of beetroot, 3 tons of onions and 6 tons of apples. -0-
