More than 40% of budget expenditures on the national economy for January-June 2017 were directed to the support and development of agriculture in Belarus. This information is contained in the report "On the State of Public Finances of the Republic of Belarus", published today on the website of the Ministry of Finance, according to BELTA.
Budget expenditures under the section "National Economy" for January-June 2017 amounted to Br1.8 billion, or 14.3% of all budget expenditures, of which 41.5% was directed to the support and development of agriculture.
According to the report, the volume of funds allocated to finance the social sphere (healthcare, physical culture, sports, culture and mass media, education, social policy) amounted to Br6.19 billion, of which Br2.59 billion was allocated to education and Br1.9 billion to healthcare.
In general, consolidated budget expenditures in January-June were financed in the amount of Br13.233 billion (4.4% higher than in the first 6 months of 2016 in nominal terms, and 2.4% lower in real terms). Relative to GDP, budget expenditures increased by 1 percentage point and amounted to 28% of GDP.
Consolidated budget revenues for January-June amounted to Br14.6 billion and increased compared to the same period last year by 8.8% in nominal terms and by 1.7% in real terms. The ratio of consolidated budget revenues to GDP was 31% (for the first half of 2016 - 30.5%).
