Over 400 people will monitor the Centralized Testing in the Vitebsk region

June 11, Vitebsk /Alena Tikhonova - BELTA/. More than 400 people will monitor the central testing process in the Vitebsk region, the Vitebsk Regional Committee of State Control informed BELTA.

The regional commission for monitoring the preparation and conduct of the central testing and entrance examinations at higher and secondary vocational education institutions comprises eight people. The commission is chaired by Vasily Maksimov, Chairman of the Regional Committee of State Control. In addition to the permanently employed staff of the Committee of State Control, approximately 420 additional specialists will work in each examination hall during the central testing. These specialists will include representatives of local executive and administrative bodies, law enforcement officers, employees of educational institutions, and representatives of the Belarusian National Youth Union (BRSM).

Eight testing centres have been organised in the Vitebsk region: at the Vitebsk State Technological University, the Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, the Vitebsk State Medical University, the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, the Vitebsk State Industrial and Construction College, the Polotsk State University, the Novopolotsk State Polytechnic College, and the Orsha State Mechanical-Economic College. Control commissions for the preparation and conduct of entrance examinations have been established at each testing centre.

The registration of applicants for the central testing took place from May 2 to June 1. A total of 34,825 participants registered, which is 6,218 fewer than in 2012.

The examinations will be held from June 14 to June 28, in accordance with the schedule approved by the Resolution of the Ministry of Education. Testing for all subjects will commence at 11:00 AM. Registration for participation in the testing on the reserve day (in case of valid reasons for non-attendance at the central testing) will be from June 27 to July 1 at the Vitebsk State Technological University. The testing centre for the reserve day (July 4) will be the Belarusian State University.

The Regional Commission for Monitoring the Progress of Preparation and Conduct of Entrance Examinations is designed to ensure equal opportunities for applicants to enroll in state higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, protect their legal rights and interests, promptly and qualitatively consider appeals on issues of testing and admission to educational institutions, take measures provided for by law on identified violations, and also make proposals for improving certain provisions of regulatory legal acts.
