28 December, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Over 400 settlements were affected by strong winds in the Vitebsk region over the past 24 hours, BELTA was informed by RUP "Vitebskenergo". Significant wind load caused power supply disruptions in Verkhnedvinsk, Rossony, Polotsk, Orsha, Shumilino, and Gorodok districts. In total, 416 settlements, 58 power transmission lines (PTL), 835 transformer substations, and 60 farms were disconnected. The main consequences of the adverse weather were eliminated the day before. As of 6:00 AM on 28 December, 43 sections of power transmission lines, 195 transformer substations, 3 farms, and 140 settlements remained unrestored. As of 7:00 AM, 63 repair crews with a total of over 230 personnel and 74 units of equipment were engaged in restoring the region's power supply. However, their number has increased with the start of the working day, "Vitebskenergo" noted. Full completion of restoration work is planned within the day.-0-
