More than 5.4 thousand young specialists have been assigned to work in educational institutions of Belarus for the new academic year, the Ministry of Education informed a BELTA correspondent.
"The education system is provided with the necessary personnel. More than 220 thousand teachers will work in educational institutions, of which over 5.4 thousand are young specialists," the ministry said.
It was noted that the issues of young specialists' retention and their social support are under the constant control of the education departments of the regional executive committees. Support for young specialists primarily includes financial incentives: an increase in the tariff salary for contract employment, partial payment for housing rent, organization of free travel or partial travel cost reimbursement, provision of additional leave, bonuses, and other payments.
Assistance is provided in obtaining preferential loans for the purchase of household goods and essential items for graduates of higher and secondary vocational education institutions who have started working outside their parents' place of residence, in accordance with Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 631 of September 27, 2000 "On Additional Measures to Increase Wages and Provide Preferential Loans to Certain Categories of Citizens". Annual meetings are held with young specialists who have arrived for work in the current academic year, and they are surveyed for prompt response to existing problems.
