More than 70,000 children in Vitebsk and Vitebsk district will be able to receive medical care at the reconstructed central children's polyclinic and its branches. The grand opening of the facility took place today, reports a BELTA correspondent. "Children are a strategic resource of the state. The protection of motherhood and childhood is the most important priority of the state," emphasized Alexander Kosinets, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, at the opening ceremony. Currently, the region is implementing the "Health" investment program, which provides for the reconstruction, modernization, and new construction of medical institutions, and the strengthening of their material and technical base. The reconstruction of the central children's polyclinic, carried out over two years, has increased its capacity by 120 visits per shift, which will now amount to 600 visits per shift. 74,000 children in Vitebsk and Vitebsk district will receive high-quality modern outpatient and polyclinic care. For this purpose, modern equipment for ultrasound and endoscopic diagnostics, a clinical diagnostic laboratory, a medical rehabilitation department, a centralized sterilization department have been purchased and installed, and ENT doctor workstations have been acquired. Working conditions for medical staff have been significantly improved. Additionally, the polyclinic will host: a medical rehabilitation department; a city center for alternative vaccination; a department for X-ray, endoscopic, and ultrasound diagnostics; a center for reproductive health of youth; an early intervention department. The polyclinic will become the regional information and methodological center for organizing outpatient and polyclinic care for the child population. A medical register of children in the region will be created here. The estimated cost of the polyclinic reconstruction work amounted to Br42.5 billion.
