This was stated to a BelTA correspondent by Andrey Demyanovich, Head of the Department for the Development of the Material and Technical Base of the Ministry of Education. It is planned to open 7 new schools for 3,624 student places; 23 preschool institutions for 3,654 places; 13 residential buildings in the regions and 8 apartments in Minsk for families raising orphans and children left without parental care; 6 republican property objects and 26 other educational facilities, including workshops, extensions, sports halls, etc. As Andrey Demyanovich noted, 45 educational facilities are scheduled for commissioning by the beginning of the academic year. Of these, 40 are municipal property objects and 5 are republican property objects. This includes 6 new schools for 2,604 student places. By September 1, the basic school in the village of Olgomel, Stolin District, the secondary school in the village of Vulka-2, Luninets District, the secondary school in the village of Gvozdnitsa, Malorita District, the secondary school in microdistrict No. 4 of Mozyr, the Lelyukansk Secondary School/Kindergarten, Ivye District, the school in microdistrict Kamenennaya Gorka-5, Minsk, and a block for junior students at the secondary school in microdistrict Kamenennaya Gorka-2 will welcome their students. It is planned to open 17 preschool institutions for 2,795 places. Of these, three are in the Brest region, four in the Gomel region, five in the Grodno region, and two new kindergartens in Minsk, etc. The educational and laboratory building at Baranovichi State University and a dormitory for 350 places for A.S. Pushkin Brest State University will also become operational. The building of the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University, with a total area of 13.239 thousand sq.m., will welcome its first students. Students of Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Minsk State Linguistic University, and A.D. Sakharov University will receive new dormitories. This refers to dormitory No. 11 for 1,032 places and dormitory No. 12 for 969 places in the Student Village in Minsk. The representative of the Ministry of Education also reported that as of August 15, 16 educational facilities have been commissioned. These include the first start-up complex for 420 student places (out of a secondary school for 1,020 places in the Minsk microdistrict Kamenennaya Gorka-5), 6 preschool institutions, and 2 republican property objects – the Faculty of International Relations of BSU and the educational and laboratory building of Baranovichi State University.
