According to the data obtained during the study, almost the entire country's population (96.7%) is aware of the presidential elections of Belarus to be held on October 11, 2015.
The results of the sociological surveys indicate that 86.2% of the republic's population plans to participate in the upcoming presidential elections: 72% of respondents answered "yes" to the relevant question, and 14.2% answered "rather yes".
In terms of regions, the highest expected electoral activity was recorded in Minsk (91.4%), Brest (89.7%), and Grodno (89.1%) regions.
The level of expected turnout is higher among rural residents than urban residents (91.7% and 84.1% respectively), among women than men (89.2% and 82.5%). In older age groups, the proportion of respondents planning to participate in the vote is higher than in younger ones (91.2% among respondents aged 60 and over, an average of 87.5% for those aged 30-59, and 79.6% for those aged 18-29).
Among the reasons motivating citizens to participate in the presidential elections, 67.7% of respondents cited civic duty. Every third person (33%) will go to the polling stations to express their opinion and attitude towards the situation in the country.
