26 April, Vitebsk Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. In the Vitebsk region in 2011, 92.7% of young medical professionals remained to work at their first jobs. This was announced today at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by Yuri Derkach, Head of the Healthcare Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. Last year, 155 young doctors and 195 mid-level healthcare workers were provided with housing in the region. This year, about one hundred apartments will also be provided to young specialists. Joint work of the Healthcare Department and local authorities has made it possible to halve the turnover of medical personnel in recent years. The provision of doctors in the region has increased to 43.4 per 10 thousand population, compared to the national average of 41.3 per 10 thousand population. Rural healthcare in the region is fully staffed. In 2012, 263 graduates of medical universities were assigned to the region, which is 21.2% more than in 2011. The coefficient of job compatibility for doctors is decreasing and amounted to 1.41. Alexander Kosinets, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, noted that highly professional specialists work in central district polyclinics and hospitals, who should be enrolled in the personnel reserve of the Healthcare Department for future appointment to higher positions, including in regional healthcare institutions.-0-
