59,555 boys and girls will have the opportunity to rest and improve their health for at least six days during the winter holidays (which will take place from December 25, 2016, to January 8, 2017) in day camps. Funding for these purposes has been allocated, as for the autumn holidays, at a rate of Br3.58 per bed-day, or Br21.48 per voucher.
In the camps for children, primarily of primary school age, health improvement, cultural, and sports activities are organised. Special attention is traditionally paid to children from large, low-income, and single-parent families, those in socially dangerous situations, children from foster and guardianship families, as well as adolescents registered with the juvenile inspection.
According to regional applications, 6,490 schoolchildren will rest in day camps in the Brest region during the winter holidays, 10,500 in the Vitebsk region, 10,480 in the Gomel region, 4,520 in the Grodno region, 9,490 in the Minsk region, 8,575 in the Mogilev region, and 9,500 children in Minsk.
During the autumn holidays, 63.4 thousand children were recuperated in the republic (101.4% of the plan), with Br1.4 million allocated for these purposes. The operation of 1,905 day camps has been organised on the basis of general secondary education institutions, additional education for children and youth, as well as specialised educational and sports institutions.
