In Belarus, over Br13 billion from state social security funds has been allocated for the health improvement of schoolchildren during the autumn holidays. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Gennady Bolbatovsky, Director of the Republican Centre for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population.
According to him, 64,257 schoolchildren will have the opportunity to rest and improve their health for at least six days in day camps (almost 3,000 more children than during last year's autumn holidays). Funding for these purposes has been allocated at a rate of Br34.1 thousand per bed-day. Health improvement, cultural, and sports activities are traditionally organised in camps for boys and girls, primarily of primary school age.
Based on regional applications, 10,000 schoolchildren will rest in day camps in the Brest region during the autumn holidays, 11,350 in the Vitebsk region, 7.5 thousand in the Gomel region, 5,160 in the Grodno region, 10,000 in the Minsk region, 9,707 in the Mogilev region, and 10,540 schoolchildren in Minsk.
The camps will primarily start operating from October 26 and will conclude on October 31, Gennady Bolbatovsky added.
