Over Br15.5 billion in investments have been allocated for the reconstruction, capital repair, and strengthening of the material and technical base of nursing homes in the Vitebsk region this year. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Inna Lakhvaenko, Head of the Department of Stationary Social Institutions of the Committee for Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The largest volume of work is concentrated at the Dunilovichi, Glubokoye, and Yakovichi nursing homes. For instance, Br4.2 billion has been invested in the reconstruction of the Dunilovichi psychoneurological nursing home with the construction of a residential building for 105 places with a medical unit. The construction of a transformer substation, power supply networks, and a pressure sewer collector has already been completed here, and the construction of the residential building is underway. In one of the residential buildings of the Glubokoye psychoneurological nursing home, windows, internal sewage and water supply systems have been replaced, wall insulation is being carried out, interior finishing is in progress, and the grounds are being improved. A total of Br3.7 billion has been invested in these purposes. The planned activities for the Yakovichi nursing home have been fully completed. The financing for this facility amounted to Br483 million. Inna Lakhvaenko also noted that modernization and reconstruction activities aimed at improving energy efficiency are being carried out at other stationary social institutions. In particular, new energy-efficient windows have been installed at the Voronovo nursing home, and wall insulation work is underway, which is planned to be completed in October. The Lunacharsky nursing home is preparing to carry out similar activities. The measures are being implemented within the framework of the State Investment Program for 2011 and the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Social Services for 2011-2015, using funds from local and republican budgets. -0-
