13 March, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva – BELTA/. Over Br30 billion will be allocated for the development of nursing homes in the Vitebsk region in 2013, the Committee for Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent.
The financing of the network of stationary social service institutions is carried out within the framework of the Comprehensive Programme for the Development of Social Services for 2011-2015. In accordance with the planned action plan, this year it is planned to complete the work started in 2012 on the construction of a medical unit to the residential building for 105 places at the Dunilovichi nursing home, replace the water supply networks to the iron removal station of the Selyutskoye nursing home, and prepare design and estimate documentation for the expansion of the canteen for the Yakovlevichi nursing home due to the doubling of the bed capacity in the period 2011-2012. It is also planned to complete the overhaul of the second five-storey residential building, medical unit, canteen with landscaping of the territory in the Lunacharskoye nursing home, the two-storey residential building with adjacent landscaping in the Braslavskoye nursing home, and the canteen in the Ratsivskoye nursing home, which began in 2012. In the Maksimovskoye nursing home, it is planned to improve the territory and begin the overhaul of internal water supply and sewerage systems.
In addition, it is planned to open a small-capacity enhanced comfort ward at the Vitebsk nursing home, and to organise the provision of special residential premises for short-term and temporary residence of citizens in the Voronovskoye general type nursing home, and the Dunilovichi, Glubokskoye and Maksimovskoye psycho-neurological nursing homes.
Overall, it is planned to replace outdated technological equipment in canteens and laundry rooms across the entire network of nursing homes, and to create new and expand existing rehabilitation facilities for socio-labour and medical rehabilitation activities for residents.
