More than half of the pensioners, benefit recipients and public sector employees in the Vitebsk region have already received financial assistance for the purchase of agricultural products, the financial department and the committee for labor, employment and social protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. It is planned to complete the payments within the established deadlines. In the Vitebsk region, 105 thousand public sector employees of the region, including civil servants and military personnel, and about 300 thousand non-working pensioners and benefit recipients will receive financial assistance. The total amount of support provided to these categories of citizens will exceed Br192 billion (Br52.6 billion will be paid to public sector employees and over Br140 billion to non-working pensioners and benefit recipients of the region). In order to provide additional support to citizens, Decree No. 417 of the President "On one-time financial assistance" provides for the provision of one-time financial assistance in the amount of Br500 thousand to persons who, as of September 1, 2011, were public sector employees, including civil servants and military personnel, benefit recipients (for childcare, for a disabled child, and for a group I disabled person), and non-working pension recipients. In order to ensure equal opportunities for citizens, the heads of organizations whose employees are not covered by the decree are recommended to pay one-time financial assistance to their employees based on the financial capabilities of the organizations. -0-
