On April 3, Minsk /Anna Kot - BELTA/. The winners of the fifth republican competition of school projects on economy and thrift "Energo-Marathon-2011" have been determined, as reported to BELTA by the chairperson of the competition jury, Head of the Organizational and Legal Work and Media Interaction Department of the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus's Department for Energy Efficiency, Zhanna Zenkevich.
During "Energo-Marathon-2011", over 1.5 thousand projects were reviewed, which is almost 30% more than in the previous year.
The aim of the competition is to foster a careful and economical attitude towards energy resources and the environment among the younger generation, to identify and disseminate best practices of educators in organizing the educational process in the field of energy saving, and to implement the latest energy-saving ideas and methods in educational institutions.
In the nomination "Best Region of the Republic for Organizing Work of Educational Institutions in the Field of Energy and Resource Saving", the first place was shared by Mogilev and Gomel regions. Brest region did not participate in this nomination. The best educational institution for creating a system of work in the field of energy and resource saving was recognized as the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 12 of Novopolotsk", Vitebsk region. In the nomination "Best Educator for Organizing Work on Fostering a Culture of Energy Saving among Students", the winner was S.V. Zaitseva, a chemistry teacher at the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 3 of Osipovichi", Mogilev region. The best student project of practical energy-saving measures was the project "Alternative Light Sources" by Alexey Samusev and Igor Gayduk from the State Educational Institution "Gymnasium No. 5 of Baranovichi", Brest region. Project supervisors: S.P. Andreeva, E.V. Kaygorodova. In the nomination "Best Practical Center (Museum) for Energy Saving", the State Educational Institution "Lyceum No. 1 of Grodno" took the lead. The first place in the nomination "Best Creative Work of Students on Promoting Efficient Use of Energy Resources" among video clips was taken by the work of the State Educational Institution "Gymnasium No. 2 of Vitebsk". The best agitation team was the agitation team "We are for Energy Efficiency!" of the Educational Institution "Novopolotsk State Professional Lyceum of Builders", Vitebsk region.
All participants of the final stage of the fifth republican competition of school projects on economy and thrift "Energo-Marathon-2011" were awarded special prizes and gifts from the organizers and partners of the competition.
The Department for Energy Efficiency of the State Committee for Standardization, the Ministry of Education, and the Grodno Regional Executive Committee are the organisers of "Energomarathon-2011". Assistance in the organisation and conduct of the competition is provided by regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, public organisations "Centre for Environmental Solutions", "Eco-project Partnership", the Belarusian Trade Union of Employees of State and Other Institutions, RUP "Belinvestenergosberezhenie", and enterprises of the Grodno region. The international partners of the competition are the Representations of the World Bank, UNDP/UN, LLC "Siemens", and a project of the European Union Programme.
"Energomarathon" was first held in 2008 in Vitebsk. Subsequently, the baton was taken up by Mogilev, Minsk, and Gomel. 1,117 entries participated in the fourth republican competition of school projects on economy and thrift "Energomarathon-2010". The Gomel region became the winner of the competition.
The republican competition of school projects on economy and thrift "Energomarathon" is held for the implementation of the measures of Directive No. 3 within the framework of the fulfilment of the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of Belarus No. 157 of February 8, 2011, and the Republican Programme for Energy Saving for 2011-2015. -0-
