In January of the current year, while the number of road traffic accidents involving children and the number of minors killed in them remained at last year's level, the number of children injured in road accidents decreased in the Republic.
However, a simultaneous increase in the number of road traffic accidents involving minors, and children killed and injured in them, was recorded in the Mogilev region, and road traffic accidents and injured children in road accidents were recorded in the Minsk region.
The majority of minor road users were injured as pedestrians and passengers of vehicles. 89.7% of children were injured due to the fault of adults.
An analysis of road traffic accidents involving minor pedestrians shows that 12 of them were injured at unregulated pedestrian crossings, 2 at regulated pedestrian crossings (one minor crossed the road against a red traffic light), and 3 minors crossed the roadway outside of a pedestrian crossing.
One third of the injured minor passengers were transported in violation of established rules.
In February of the current year, the situation with child road traffic injuries is characterized by negative changes. While the number of minors killed in road traffic accidents remained at last year's level, an increase in the number of children injured in road accidents was observed (from 15 to 31, including 18 pedestrians, 12 passengers, and 1 cyclist).
