"Be there for your child!"

With the aim of drawing parents' attention to issues of children's mischief with fire, problems of child fatalities and injuries in fires, the impact of parental negligence on the safety of unsupervised children, as well as preventing emergencies involving children, from 28 to 29 October 2023, on the eve of the autumn holidays, the republican campaign-marathon of the same name "Stay Close to Your Child!" will be held.

With the aim of drawing parents' attention to issues of children's mischief with fire, problems of child fatalities and injuries in fires, the impact of parental negligence on the safety of unsupervised children, as well as preventing emergencies involving children, from 28 to 29 October 2023, on the eve of the autumn holidays, the republican campaign-marathon of the same name "Stay Close to Your Child!" will be held.

Many parents believe that a child can be left home alone even for a few minutes, especially with a phone, as there is an opportunity to contact them at any moment. However, they forget the most important thing – in the event of a threat, a phone call will not be able to protect and save the child from danger. It is this misconception that the new Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) campaign is dedicated to, aiming to motivate parents not to leave children unsupervised and to approach teaching them safety rules responsibly.

Thus, on October 28, an event will be held at the Fire and Rescue Station No. 1 in Lepel, with the participation of families raising minor children. Within the framework of this event, MES employees will organize a tour of the fire department, introduce the rescuer profession, demonstrate special equipment and machinery, and also conduct training sessions and quizzes on teaching parents and children how to act in various emergency situations.

On October 29, a large-scale event will be held at the "Tri Tseny" (Three Prices) store in Lepel, where MES employees will remind parents of the dangers of leaving children unsupervised and advise on how to protect their families from emergencies.
