On September 26, a Unified Road Safety Day will be held.

As part of the events, State Automobile Inspectorate officers will remind pedestrians of the need to ensure their safety with the help of retroreflective elements, which increase visibility on the road and reduce the risk of traffic accidents involving them.

For example, if a car has its low beams on, a driver will see an ordinary pedestrian from a distance of 30 meters, while the use of a retroreflector increases this distance to 150 meters.

We recommend attaching reflectors to outerwear, footwear, hats, as well as backpacks and bags.

We remind you that pedestrians should only walk on sidewalks and footpaths, and cross the roadway at pedestrian crossings.

Remember that even if the light turns green, you should not immediately cross the road; you need to look left and right, thereby ensuring that drivers see you and let you pass.
