Before travelling, clear your vehicle of snow, especially windows and lights, fill the washer fluid reservoir with antifreeze, and ensure your windscreen wipers are functioning. If snow accumulates on them during your journey, stop to clear it only in safe locations off the carriageway.
Pedestrians in precipitation conditions are advised to wear high-visibility clothing and use retroreflective elements after dark. Cross the road only at designated crossings and only after ensuring you are being yielded to. It is safer to wait for crossing at least one metre from the edge of the carriageway.
