Visibility on the roads of the capital and in some regions is hampered by fog, which will persist during the night and morning hours. Ice patches are possible in places.
The main danger is the distortion of distance. In such weather conditions, all objects lose their outlines, making it difficult to determine their true size, and distances appear twice as long.
When driving in fog, it is important to increase the distance and drive at a safe speed! Sometimes it may be no more than 25 km/h. Avoid unnecessary lane changes and sudden manoeuvres.
You should indicate your presence on the road: drivers should drive with their low beam headlights on, and pedestrians should use reflective elements. "Fog lights" will only help if they are correctly installed and adjusted. The light from them should spread along the roadway beneath the layer of fog and clearly illuminate the right edge of the road.
Pedestrians must cross the road only at designated places, having previously made sure that drivers have noticed you and have had time to stop.
