Employees of the "DEU-37" branch of RUP "Vitebskavtodor" have switched to an enhanced work regime to eliminate the consequences of snowfall. Due to heavy precipitation, some sections have turned into an ice rink.
Drivers are treating the road surface, which spans 180 kilometers, with anti-icing agents using specialized equipment. It should be noted that on such snowy days, they traverse their assigned sections more than once. For example, yesterday from 6 PM, and today from 4 AM to 8 AM, this work was carried out, and after a short break, the drivers returned to operating the large-tonnage vehicles.
Five MAZ trucks equipped with sand-spreading devices are working on the routes, cleaning and simultaneously gritting the roads. Four MTZ tractors and a motor grader are clearing the road surface, and three teams are clearing snow from bus stops in various directions.
Over 130 tons of sand-salt mixture have been used in 24 hours.
It is also important to understand that in addition to this, a loader, a dispatcher, and other specialists are involved in the area, working under the supervision of Head Igor Arkhipenko.
In winter, road workers operate around the clock. Dispatch services have been established where specialists monitor the condition of the routes on computers, partly thanks to road condition monitoring stations. As all roads in the republic are part of a unified network, each dispatcher can monitor the situation.
