The primary course of vaccination against coronavirus has been completed by 72.3% of residents in the Vitebsk region. Booster vaccination has been received by 67.3% of citizens from the eligible contingent – those who completed the primary course six or more months ago. Additionally, 16.6% of children aged 5 to 17 years have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

"Alongside the year-round vaccination against COVID, October and November are the most optimal period for influenza vaccination. Citizens can be vaccinated against these two diseases either simultaneously on the same day or with an interval of two weeks or more. 15.8% of Vitebsk region residents have received the flu vaccine," said Vladimir Sinkevich.

Vaccination is an important factor in curbing the spread of coronavirus infection. "Overall in the region, the COVID-19 morbidity situation is predictable and controllable, and currently, there are no observed trends towards an increase," emphasized the Chief State Sanitary Physician of the Vitebsk Region.

As reported by the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, all district and city hospitals are equipped with the necessary medical equipment. This year, healthcare institutions in the Vitebsk region have been supplemented with 20 mobile ventilators and 46 ventilators with advanced functions.

Vladimir Sinkevich drew attention to the importance of observing non-specific preventive measures for respiratory diseases. Specialists recommend adhering to principles of respiratory etiquette, healthy eating, and regular physical activity, including spending time outdoors.
