The spring conscription campaign is gaining momentum in military commissariats, including those of Lepel and Ushachi districts. Currently, it is a busy period here: young men subject to conscription into the Armed Forces and other military formations are undergoing medical examinations, and selection by representatives of military units is underway. An important stage is the вручение повесток (handing out of summonses) to young men deemed fit for military service based on their health. In this regard, it was particularly crowded today near the district House of Culture. From the first minutes of entering the RDK, the attention of those present was immediately drawn to an exhibition prepared by representatives of the 52nd Separate Specialized Search Battalion, which is stationed in the village of Borovka. Not only conscripts gathered in the hall for this important event, but also parents, close relatives of future soldiers, as well as representatives of public organizations and work collectives. In a solemn atmosphere, Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko No. 48 of February 12, 2024, "On dismissal to the reserve and conscription for active military service, service in the reserve" was read out by the military commissar of Lepel and Ushachi districts, Andrey Pukhalsky. Andrey Leonidovich noted that every man remembers the day of taking the oath, how he served, and with whom he communicated. The army helps to reveal strong character traits. — I am convinced that you will prove yourselves to be competent specialists, will clearly carry out the orders of your commanders, and will master military science. I wish you to become stronger, more mature, and find good comrades during this important period of your lives, with whom you will walk through life afterwards. After the parting words of the military commissar, the speech of the Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, Igor Urban, was touching: -- We are proud of the defenders of the Fatherland of all generations, who have always honorably fulfilled their military duty. After all, the defense of the Fatherland is the sacred duty of every person – a true patriot. I wish everyone health, happiness, well-being, and success in serving the Fatherland, — noted the Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, Igor Urban. Many good parting wishes were expressed to the conscripts.
also included Sergey Krivel, Chairman of the district organisation of the public association "Republican Union of Afghanistan War Veterans", Valery Leshchenok, representative of the district organisation of the public association "Republican Union of Officers", representatives of military units where our conscripts will perform their military service, and other guests.
Addressing the young men who will exchange civilian clothes for military uniforms tomorrow, Vladimir Sezdi, a conscript's father, spoke on behalf of the parents.
"The army is a test of courage, bravery and valour for every man. You must pass it with dignity, and we are confident that you will cope. And we, your parents and relatives, will be waiting for you at home, having grown older, healthier and more mature.
Your main task is to serve in the army with honour and dignity. It is here that a person not only goes through a good school of life but also finds true friends. Army friends are friendships for many years to come.
Archpriest Sergiy Leshkevich, Dean of the Lepel District, also gave the conscripts his instructions and blessings for military service.
"...I wish you to serve with the spiritual sense that you are undertaking the defence of the land, which is special before God. May this time pass with dignity and honour, so that you may return strengthened and matured to your native lands, where you are loved and awaited." Father Sergiy urged the young men to worthily continue the traditions of our glorious ancestors, wished the future soldiers spiritual and physical strength, and to turn to the Lord for support in difficult moments.
The culmination of the Conscript Day was the вручение повесток (handing out of conscription notices) to the young men. The guys also received small souvenirs from the RK OO "BRSM" and the Lepel district organisation of the Republican public association "Belaya Rus".
Congratulations to the conscripts were interspersed with musical performances by artists from the district House of Culture, which were warmly received with thunderous applause.
It is gratifying that many young men are willing to serve in the army, and some are already considering contract military service. For example, Igor Zhernosek and Nikita Prudnikov do not want to leave home, of course, but they are ready to pay their debt to the motherland. They are going to serve with a positive attitude and the goal of becoming more courageous, acquiring a military profession, and making their parents proud.
The event turned out to be interesting and memorable, and we are sure that the conscripts will remember it for a long time.
